Delhi, a dream place for any student to study in after completing high school. Most of the students aspire to get admission in one of the DU colleges. The cut-offs are really high at this colleges and it’s almost impossible to get an admission if you are below 95%. This really sets off the students. Usually, the students have to ace in exams such as JEE Main and NEET. The students work really hard to get admission in DU. The struggles they face are incredible and an average student cannot even imagine getting into one of them. DU is considered one of the top universities in India. Students have to work very hard in order to get admitted into one of the DU colleges. I’ll be showing the life of a delhite student through this article. The struggle after finding a college is accommodation. finding a place nearby your college to live is not an easy job, especially when you are in Delhi. Things get cranky at times. You need to consider all the criterias including distance from college, locality, and budget. This can morally bring down the student as they are confused where to find the best pg nearby. You can find many reputed DU colleges, LSR, KNC, Gargi, Venkateshwara to name a few. As I have mentioned earlier, they accept entrance exams such as JEE Main and NEET.
Thus, there is always a high demand for accommodation in areas like Kalkaji, South Ex, Lajpat Nagar, Dhaula Kuan, GK etc. even though the renting rates are the steepest. Single occupancy costs anywhere between Rs. 10,000 to 20,000 per month while multiple occupancies bring down the cost to Rs. 2500 to 7000. Thus, a group of students opt for renting a flat and living together. Even though you might be feeling that living in these areas might burn a hole in your pocket, there are several advantages associated.
Keeping all this aside, students do enjoy the nightlife in Delhi. There are many happening clubs in Delhi that a student can roll in with a squad. Students most often like to hang out after a stressful day. The one thing that student is fond of is “stuff” or “baba” or ”whatever you may have to call it”. I prefer to call it Mary Jane.
There’s also a short web series that revolves around the lives of three delhite students turned friends which showcases all the drama happening in their lives. The series focuses on how students manage their college life coping up with all the problems. The series is titled “baked” and it is available on YouTube. The series precisely depicts the lives of delhite students and all the struggles that the students face in their college life.
I would like to conclude the article by saying that the students in Delhi have to go through struggles and they face it with all the determination and cope up with all their problems very enthusiastically. There’s a quote “success doesn’t come from comfort zone”. You need to go out there and work for it. That is when you’ll explore out of your comfort zone and achieve things.
